The sheer trend has gone from red carpet to real style in a major way this last year! With barely-there dresses to layer-friendly bodysuits, incorporating sheer details is a fun way to add a bit of sex appeal to your nighttime looks. This dress was my gateway drug to this trend – I wore it to a friend’s wedding in Chicago, and received so many compliments! The sheer insert is a modern detail that draws your eyes to the waist (so flattering!), but is not too revealing. You can see it on me here!
For a slightly more casual take on the trend, I thought this under $50 bodysuit would come in handy as the bottom layer for all kinds of outfits this fall/winter. We’ve had a bit of a heatwave here in New York this week, but once the temps fully drop again I plan to break it out and wear it with jeans and a blazer! It could also be super cool layered under dresses or sweaters, depending on the silhouette. It’s such a great buy if you want to try the trend for less! The look above is certainly more daring, but I think it looks pretty fabulous with my satin palazzo pants for a cocktail party this holiday season. Just add some sparkly accessories and you’re good to go!
